Love Nutrient Big Tree Garden Fresh H2o Fish Eating Seat (香树下河鲜) @ Taman Rambai, Kulim, Kedah.

Gourmands need non move far to larn skilful fresh H2O produce... Kulim, i of the closest towns to Penang inwards Kedah has quite a handful of skilful options. H5N1 brusk 15-minute effort away from Kulim High-Tech Park or 30-minute effort away from Penang yoke volition province you lot at Big Tree Garden Restaurant (香树下河鲜), a seemingly curious eating seat tucked inside a residential expanse of Kulim, Kedah. It takes roughly endeavour to achieve hither (once most Jalan Perdagangan, follow the Pb of the route signages) but the vantage is worth it. The house occupies a big slice of province too has multiple fish ponds farming fresh H2O produce. At the side of those ponds, it has a eating seat dedicated exclusively to serve all these goodies. There are half dozen types of fresh river fishes available here- Patin, Cat fish, Tilapia, Tamarind fish etc. Apart from the fresh H2O fishes, roughly of their signature dishes such equally Stir Fried Porridge are non to endure missed either...

Steamed Patin (Rm 40/ kg)

Deep Fried Lampang Fish (Rm 50/ kg)

We had Patin too Lampang- the old fish was steamed too served alongside Chinese soy sauce spell the latter selection was deep fried too dished over uncomplicated soy sauce dip. Both were bully inwards their ain ways but they shared i mutual thing... fresh. There was a nary of fishiness too the unctuous belly of the Patin fish was jaw-droppingly good. The pristine-white flesh was smoothen too muscular, it possessed that satisfying "meaty bite"; when complemented alongside the soy sauce, it was best to spoon over Rice.

We were novel when it comes to Lampang, the river fish has countless, modest bones which makes the eating procedure tedious. The server recommended to deep tike the fish too nosotros figured out why. The stance was to innovate a crispy dimension to the edges of the fish too perhaps, for sure parts of the fish could endure exclusively eaten. Some fish scales were magically added for the extra crisp.... non besides shabby for a change.

Stir Fried Porridge (Rm 5/ pax)

Stir Fried Vermicelli Noodles (Rm 4/ pax)

Kerabu Chicken Feet (Rm 12/ small)

Tummy fillers were Stir Fried Porridge too Stir Fried Vermicelli Noodles inwards lieu of White Rice. Big Tree Garden's Stir Fried Porridge was nicely done, a delightful smokey-charred odor was introduced to the porridge alongside condiments similar salted pork meat, shrimps too dried shitake mushrooms. It was delicately salted too alongside thence many ingredients coming in, the flavors were multi-dimensional. Equaly delicious was the Stir Fried Vermicelli Noodles alongside an unbeatable cost tag of Rm iv per serving (small); though non out of the basis delicious, it was decent alongside the quintessential "wok-hei" too basic ingredients (such equally shrimps, egg, greens, sprouts etc) to spice upward the noodle dish.

Stir Fried Belacan Kangkung (Rm 10/ small)
