Love Nutrient Dragon Door Fresh H2o Nutrient (龙门河鲜餐馆) @ Bagan Samak, Kedah.

Claimed to last the commencement eating seat inward Bagan Samak, Dragon Door Fresh Water Food was established inward 1994 serving homey-unpretentious home-cooked dishes specializing inward river nutrient but amongst the recent expansion of the neighborhood, many novel competitors bring sprung up; Dragon Door has since been left behind. The pioneer offers a big menu, focusing primarily on Chinese delights but the river nutrient diversity paled when comparing to its competitors. Also, nosotros idea the gustation did non smooth either. This mayhap i of the options if you lot wishing to dine-in at a placidity eating seat sans the clamoring crowd.

Steamed [Wild] Cat Fish (Rm 60/ kg)

Buttered River Prawns (Rm 10/ kg)

Sweet as well as Sour Squid (Rm 14)

Steamed Free Range Chicken (Rm 9)

The quintessential guild at whatsoever river nutrient restaurants at Bagan Samak- steamed river fish. We opted for the wild Cat fish, glamorously priced at Rm lx per kg. It's ever wise to become for those weigh 1 kg or more... for the alluring pockets of fats. We were pleased that Dragon Door did it right, the premium Soy sauce was fragile as well as worked perfectly good amongst the fresh, succulent river fish.

We were as well as hence introduced to their signature Buttered River Prawns, claimed to last i of the must-haves inward Dragon Door but we'd similar to mean value otherwise. As opposed to our expectation, the River Prawns did non come upwards amongst a buttery olfactory holding but instead, a weak version of curry River Prawns drenched inward oil. The flesh was lip-smacking but the Prawns barely registered whatsoever flavors. The existent disappointment was the Sweet as well as Sour Squid, nosotros expected the dish to last served inward Thai mode but it turned out to last the Chinese Deep Fried Sweet as well as Sour Squid. The jolting sourness as well as piquant sweetness spoiled the overall gustation as well as the texture of the Squid was undesirable.

Green Apple Kerabu (Rm 8)

Stir Fried Paku-Pakis (Rm 9)

Stir Fried Sweet Potato Greens (Rm 9)

Stir Fried Bee Hoon (Rm 4/ pax)

Other dishes were disappointingly average either but I did relish their Green Apple Kerabu. Albeit on the sweeter side, the flavors were exciting as well as the juicy mash was addictive. For Rm 9, the steamed Free Range Chicken was okay every bit well. The Chicken was commencement marinated amongst low-cal Soy sauce as well as steamed. The essence collected from the procedure was served to us too; a rather direct-straight forwards dish that went good amongst rice.
