Love Nutrient Ah Poh Dessert Menage (阿宝糖水铺) @ Malay Street, Georgetown, Penang.

Old Penangites should non survive novel to this name... Ah Poh Dessert House, or ameliorate known as the old schoolhouse Tong Sui stall at Victoria Street. It's famous for its charcoal-boiled traditional sugariness soups selling at unbeatable prices; during the older days, the laborers working nearby would pay the store a view for their afternoon recharge... a plate of Fried Vermicelli Noodles alongside a pipe hot bowl of dessert would lighten upward their days. Today, the dessert stall has relocated to Malay Street, opening a store entire for themselves but to a greater extent than or less things never changed... the old schoolhouse favorites as well as the cooking method (over charcoal). There powerfulness survive slight revision to the prices but inwards return, diners larn to bask their quick repast inwards an air-conditioned environment.

Gandum (Rm 3)

Peach Gum alongside Red Dates as well as Longan (Rm 4)

Chicken Porridge (Rm 3)

Fried Noodles (Rm 1.70)

Fit for either dejeuner or afternoon tea, the house offers low-cal savory meals similar Chicken Porridge as well as Fried Vermicelli Noodles. The one-time alternative has pulled Chicken meat alongside a hint of Salted Egg as well as Century Egg. It seemed bland at kickoff sight but the Porridge was surprisingly flavorful, the deep fried Shallots added a crispy dimension to the creamy Porridge... definitely no complaints for that price. The Fried Noodles were okay... pretty criterion except that they accept added a personal touch... deep fried Pork Lards for the extra alluring scent but the downside was of course, greasier than usual. Both desserts were every bit delicious as well as ticked all the boxes, the Gandum was creamy rich but delicately sweetened. This is definitely 1 of the few places that you lot tin view for traditional sugariness soups.
